For more than a decade, I have been building, investing, listening and learning from founders and investors.
It has been an unusual front-row seat to the people, ideas and stories shaping India’s startup ecosystem.
Today, I am building LVX, investing in early-stage companies, writing about private markets and putting some of what I have learnt into my first book.
MY JOURNEY
It started with a simple idea.
In 2013, I started LetsVenture with a simple idea: make it easier for founders and investors to find each other.
What followed was more than I could have imagined. I got to sit across the table from thousands of founders and investors, watch companies being built from the earliest stages, and see India’s startup ecosystem evolve along the way.
There were successful raises, failed businesses, difficult co-founder conversations, unexpected breakthroughs and plenty of decisions that looked very different in hindsight.
I learnt that there is rarely one right answer when you are building a company.
There are patterns, though.
And after more than a decade of watching them, I have become increasingly interested in understanding those patterns.
Today, that journey continues through LVX, where we are building for India’s private markets across founders, investors, capital and technology.
THE BOOK
My first book is coming soon.
Some ideas stay with you for years before you finally decide to put them down on paper.
After more than a decade of conversations with founders and investors, I have brought together some of what I have learnt about building companies, raising capital and making the decisions that shape a founder’s journey.
Writing a book has been very different from writing a post. A post lets you think aloud. A book forces you to decide what you actually believe.
I have enjoyed that discomfort.
OUTSIDE THE PITCH ROOM
I live in Bangalore, mostly, although my calendar would suggest otherwise.
I like mountains and beaches, Bollywood and books, long conversations and genuine banter. I like trekking, learning about fitness and healthy living, and travelling without always having a very good reason for doing so.
I am fascinated by people who have the courage to do things they are not sure they can do.
Sometimes that means building a company.
Sometimes it means having a difficult conversation.
Sometimes it means attempting to run when you can only fast-walk.
And sometimes it is simply being able to say, “I got that wrong.”
I believe simplicity is underrated, vulnerability is underrated, and that most interesting things begin with a good conversation.
